OF THE
TRUCKEE DONNER PUBLIC UTILITY DISTRICT
INITIATING PROCEEDINGS TO ACTIVATE A LATENT POWER TO PROVIDE
TELECOMMUNICATIONS SERVICES
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the Truckee Donner Public Utility District wishes to provide
telecommunications services to benefit the residents and property owners within the District; and
WHEREAS, telecommunications services are not presently provided by the District and it is therefore
necessary in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Nevada County Local Agency Formation
Commission for the District to request and receive authorization to activate this latent power;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of the District as follows:
1. The Nevada County Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCo) is hereby requested to authorize
the District to provide a function known as telecommunications.
2. This proposal is made, and it is requested that proceedings be taken, pursuant to the Cortese-Knox
Local Government Reorganization Act of 1985, specifically Section 56450 et seq. of the California
Government Code.
3. The reason for the request is to provide services not presently available that will benefit residents
and property owners within the District.
4. No changes in boundaries, spheres of influence or organizations of local agencies is affected by the
authorization for the District to provide this function, nor are other agencies within the District
currently providing similar services.
5. LAFCo is requested to authorize the District to provide this function immediately.
6. The General Manager of the District is directed to file this resolution and other necessary application
material with the Executive Officer of the Nevada County LAFCo.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Directors at a meeting duly called and held within the District on
the 201h day of October 1999 by the following roll call vote:
AYES: Aguera, Maass and Jones.
NOES: Sutton.
ABSENT: Hemig
