Resolution No. 2003- 24
Authorizing the Donation of Native American Artifacts
to the Donner State Park Museum
WHEREAS Truckee Donner Public Utility District constructed the Donner Lake Pipeline
Replacement Project; and
WHEREAS during the construction, the District exposed Native American Artifacts; and
WHEREAS the District contacted Susan Lindstrom, the Supervising Archaeologist for the
project, to verify the authenticity of the artifacts; and
WHEREAS Susan Lindstrom contacted the representative for the local Native American
groups to discuss the ultimate disposition of these artifacts; and
WHEREAS the Local Native Americans request that the artifacts be placed on local display
at the Donner State Park Museum; and
WHEREAS the District wishes to preserve the cultural and historical resources of the
Truckee area; and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
DISTRICT THAT the District would like to donate the Native American Artifacts to the
Donner State Park Museum.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Directors at a meeting duly called and held
within the District on the eighteenth day of June, 2003 by the following roll call vote:
AYES: Directors Aguera, Hemig, Maass and Van Gundy
NOES: Director Sutton
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None
